The mission of Is The Message is to include and empower. We’re about truth–naked and raw. If you’re not happy about something we’re all expected to swallow, we want that. We want your rebel yell, your exquisite, sophisticated rage. We work together and party together. And when one of us falls, we help each other back up.

It starts with a question: does consumerist culture encourage us to be our best selves? An identity steeped in ego is unsustainable. The self treated as capital will crumble under the weight of illusion.
Meanwhile, our true-self sleeps. We close our eyes to wake up. In moments of discomfort, we pray with our phones, if only someone would text me. Check until someone does, and after that, keep checking. If idle hands are the devil’s play, the devil is confused, doesn’t know where to meddle, we’re meddling with each other, ignore your child, parent, friend in the room, I’m busy.
The true-self is conflicted with sexist ads, stifled souls in department stores stripped of means to feeling human. Our authenticity is stepped in doubt, ego manifested in material wealth measured by “growth,” by “progress,” while we litter this mother playground called Earth, unstoppable, we seem, until it breaks.
Being human has become a privilege when it’s a natural right.
